Introducing Tae Ham
Tae Ham, also known as N3urotika, is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Tae Ham’s creative catalog includes fine arts along with music and stage performance. As a Clark Atlanta alumnus, Ham obtained first place in the 2015 Atlanta University artist competition with his oil painting, “Young, Black, and Disgusted." While attending Clark Atlanta University, Ham also studied fine and installation art under the leadership of Arturo Lindsay, an artist and professor at Spelman College. For a decade, Ham has showcased artwork in many independent galleries and was also a featured artist in the 2023 Good Black Art documentary series and exhibition held in the World Trade Center.
Ham’s work highlights alternative/queer black lifestyles, spirituality and typically depicts safe spaces in nightlife while also challenging western concepts within futurism and science fiction. Since he was a child, he’d spend most of his time drawing the characters that’d be found in anime cartoons such as Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z. These shows focused on friendship, teamwork, and community, which are themes that clearly continue to inspire the artist.
